From our offices in Peterborough and London, we work with homeowners, architects, builders and developers on everything from a single steel beam to full structural design packages.

Stella founded Ora Labora in 2019. She graduated from the University of Bath with an MEng in Civil & Architectural Engineering, followed by a PhD in Civil Engineering.
I specialise in the design and assessment of steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures, providing practical, Eurocode-based solutions with expertise in foundation design, timber frame detailing and structural connections.
I take care of the project details behind the scenes, managing timelines, improving processes and keeping projects on track so the team can focus on what they do best.
I keep the business organised day to day, from calendars, records and client follow-up to our social media, website and BNI networking meetings.
I'm the friendly face behind the company's bookkeeping and accounting, making sure everything adds up, stays on track and helps the team make informed financial decisions.
I take the "people" part of people management seriously. Five years into HR, I've learned that discipline and kindness aren't opposites, and there's a soft heart behind the resting HR face.
Stella did a great job for us. She liaised with building control (quite a challenge) and thought of things we would have never considered. Overall she did a great job for us and we are extremely happy with the outcome.

I had contacted many other structural engineer firms but they were hesitant to take on the project. When I rang Ora Labora there were no issues and they were able to come out quickly to survey the property. Everyone was very professional and I was able to get the final drawings very quickly at a good price. I handed these over to my builder and they were able to complete the work without any issues. I would highly recommend and would use them again!
